The Dublin Culture Trail App is now available for Android.
The Dublin Culture Trail takes users on a journey of discovery and adventure using stunning video and photographs of Dublin's museums, galleries, historic buildings and cultural centres. The trail introduces the user to the people and artists behind the venues, who reveal interesting facts and nuggets of information about their venue, tempting the user to visit. The stunning high-definition videos were created by BAFTA winning cameraman Mark McAuley.

BT Young Scientist Exhibition 2012

Software Design designed, developed and implemented a comprehensive web application for the management and operation of the Young Scientist Exhibition.
The solution developed by Software design enabled students to register and submit their project applications online. Teachers were also able to log in and assess their students' projects quickly and easily using only a web browser.
Behind the scenes, Software Design implemented a complete web based management system to facilitate exhibition administrators in all aspects of the events management.
With 1,743 ideas entered by 3,842 students from 32 counties, there has been a record number of entries to the 2012 BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition.

Software Design was commissioned by leading Irish institute to commercialise a university research project.
The software development project involved analysis of digital images of cellular tissue samples.The algorithm used in the software processes the digital images and highlights any areas of concern.
The first phase of the project was to encapsulate the customer's native code into a working library with a generic interface.
The second phase of the project involved creating a plug-in module for an industry standard image analysis application. This then allowed the algorithm to be used on-demand by a broad customer base.
A packaged installer for the plug-in was produced, and comprehensive testing was performed including functional and stress testing. The installer was delivered, along with the source for the plug-in and a guide for ongoing maintenance.

The aim of this project was to provide Host Organisations and LINKs (Local Involvement Networks) with the ability to engage members through an online community portal. Community voices Online wanted to capitalise on the popularity of social networking as a medium to communicate with their members.

The Dublin Examining Board has been providing mock examination papers and stationery for over 60 years. In addition to providing customers with year-round support, they have the largest number of teachers working nationwide – setting, reviewing, editing exam papers, as well as correcting and supervising the correction of scripts.
Software Design was engaged to develop a user friendly eCommerce solution for the Dublin Examining Board. The website allows teachers and exam secretaries to purchase mock examination papers or stationary through the website. Examiners can register to correct papers, order scripts or access additional resources.
The project provides the Dublin Examining Board with a comprehensive and scalable platform for the administration and dispatch of examination papers and stationary.

Touchscreen Baggage Weighing Scale

Software Design has successfully completed the design and development of a touch screen weighing scale in association with, and on behalf of, P. J. Boner & Co.
The scale is design to enable travelling passengers to ascertain excess baggage charges in advance of queuing up for the check in desk, thus saving time and avoiding the inconvenience of not being prepared for additional charges at the desk.
In response to simply selecting your airline and destination airport, the scale will issue passengers with a printed receipt informing them of their baggage weight and any applicable charges.
Software design was responsible for all relevant hardware integration, software development and user interface design and implementation.

The IIA WDWG aims to support businesses in the development and implementation of websites and web applications that will enable them to do business online.
